

On average 230 West Australians take their own lives each year - well above the average annual road toll of 191.
The State Government has allocated $13 million for the Ministerial Council for Suicide Prevention to support 50 communities and 50 companies and organisations across WA to develop, run and own their own suicide prevention plans.
Fourteen community action plans are already under way including The Australian Veterinary Association, which developed a plan because the risk of suicide among vets is about four times that of the general population.
It is expected that each community will have its own idea about how best to help prevent suicide and develop community action plans. If your community wants further information, contact the Ministerial Council for Suicide Prevention:
