Rural Crime Fighting Unit to be running mid-year
The former government closed down the Rural Crime Squad last year.

Last month, WA police indicated it would be another 12 months before the new look unit would be ready.

However, Brad McCormick from the department says the Livestock Compliance Unit will be ready in four months.

"We've been working closely with senior police personnel on developing a formal agreement between the two agencies to ensure the roles and responsibilities are well set out and that each party understands what each one has to do," he said.
